Sisterhood of the Travelling Palettes

With Summer approaching, I decided it was time to start looking at ways of slimming down my make-up bag for travel purposes. Let’s face it, we’ve all done it. Packed way too much make-up for a trip and never even touched half of it. Taking a smaller selection with you will save you time when applying your make-up on your travels – time that you could be spending actually taking in your destination, instead of faffing around trying to find your absolute favourite liquid eyeliner amongst the several that you’ve hauled along with you (no, you don’t need that green eyeliner that you used to sport in the first few years of highschool). It will also help to keep your travel make-up bag in better condition (no more busting those zips, ladies). A simple nude palette is the perfect eyeshadow choice as nudes go with absolutely anything and everything. Nudes can be worn for a casual ‘no make-up’ look in the daytime, but also dramatised for the evening with a heavier application/and or darker shades. Personally, I prefer palettes that are quads or bigger, as the extra shade in a quad (compared to a trio) provides you with the option to vary your eye look, should you wish too. Saying that, when travelling, less is more, so full-sized Naked palettes are a bit of a no-no. Anyhow, each to their own; here are my top 3 picks of that would make the perfect travelling palette… from the priciest to the most purse-friendly.
